So, I've been inspired by this Crysis 2 trailer and I got this idea of creating a replica of it about Parkour. I've had this in my head for months and I even asked a fellow voice actor to do the narration, so I already had the sound ready. The only problem, I'm not so amazing at Parkour and that's clearly what this video is going for: mega-blastic-extreme-radical Parkour. So instead, I'll be asking people around the world of all levels to be sending me their clips for me to compile them into this one soon to be kick ass video.
If you haven't yet checked out the original trailer, I suggest you do so so you can get the idea of what the video is going look like.
This is the monologue of the Parkour version:
"They say Parkour is an art of movement, but to me it's something more. It gives me power to be strong, to be fast, to be invisible. But most importantly, it gives me options."
Let's go through these sentences in detail so I can explain what footage I'm expecting behind them.
They say Parkour, is an art of movement
This part of the video is supposed to have "vistas", images of the city, nature, whatever. You don't need to send me that, but if you have something different, I'll be happy to include it.
But to me it's something more
This is the hardest part. In the middle of this sentence, there's a gap in the music, and then it grows with a loud "bam!" which means something big happens (See original trailer). This means I need a huge flight, a big jump most likely, or a superman flip, something big and impressive (that's why I need your help.)
It gives me power to be strong
I pretend having this part with strength exercises and movements that depend on your force.
To be fast
This is the part where you can send me flows, preferably quick ones with speed vaults and stuff.
To be invisble
Now you may be asking your self: "Invisible? In Parkour? What the heck?!". Well, yes it's unusual, but pretend you're a ninja. You know, jumping around on the rooftops, sneaking around in public areas... yea I know you do that stuff, don't look at me with that innocent face.
But most importantly it gives me options
You can interpret it any way you want, but in terms of video, would be nice having a route filmed different from which the society takes (see Parkour Gerenation's video City Gents).
Oh, and of course I won't be leaving you without actually hearing the song I have ready for the video... although it's not the full one, reasons because I don't want people stealing my idea and using it in their video. Don't worry, after I'm done I'll release it fully.
*Voice acting done by Ian Wiese. Thanks Ian!
So... are you in? or are you out? If you took the red pill, follow me.
If you want to send me videos or clips, send them to me at lipepk@live.com (same goes to dropbox)
Preferably, videos should
- Not be color corrected (or just too much color corrected)
- Be high quality (doesn't have to be iMax, simple 480p is enough)
I'll be using Sony Vegas 10 Pro. I'm not huge at editing, but I believe that my skills are good enough to edit this video. You can find some of my work on these channels:
That's it for now, thanks for helping and wish me luck!
